PLANT DESCRIPTION Exercise

It is not uncommon for a botanist, range scientist, wildlife biologist, or other scientist to have to describe a plant. Whether you are writing the description of a new species or pointing out the field characters of some animal's favorite snack, it is important to be able to paint a good word picture of a particular plant.

The following exercise will be worth 25 pts. in Botany 301. *Items marked with an asterisk* are worth 2 points.

For measurements, you may give a range, e.g. 3 to 5 mm. For shape, you may use a "to" statement, e.g. blades ovate to lanceolate.
