Friends of Lick Creek Park (FOLCP) is a non-profit corporation registered with the State of Texas. Its mission is to promote public awareness of Lick Creek Park and provide resources and facilities enhancing educational and recreational uses of the park. FOLCP works with the City of College Station to help maintain the park and to increase its value for the widest spectrum of uses and users compatible with its continued existence as a viable nature preserve.

Have you ever wanted to know more about the trees, shrubs, and vines in the park?  What to call them besides "green"?  Monique Reed of the Biology Department at A&M will teach us what they are and how to tell them apart!  She'll give a Woody Plant Talk at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 28 at the Brazos Valeey Museum of Natural History.  Then on Saturday, July 30, she'll give a hands-on walk-and-talk from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the park.  Come early and beat the heat! Both events are free and open to everyone.  (Children must be accompanied by an adult.)

We are taking August off, meeting-wise.  Our next regular meeting will be Thursday September 8 at 7 PM at the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History.  Please come! There is lots to talk about.
